Melbourne Fringe Festival at QVWC

The Queen Victoria Women's Centre’s is excited to announce a program of events as part of Melbourne Fringe Festival 2022! The program will showcase new comedy and theatre by some exciting women & non-binary performers.

Program includes:

Drown’ Em Out is a show about discovering how and where Lisa Sharpe lost it as she weaves and twists through her stories of growing up in an Australian small town in the 70’s and 80’s. Lisa bravely, honestly and hilariously tells her story, a story of so many women, then and now.

“Audiences should not delay in seeking out what she has to say... The respect she earns from her audience is proof enough that she is a gifted comedian and a captivating raconteur... An unflinching 45 minutes of honest contemplation (accompanied by a generous serving of humour)” - Theatre Haus

“Hands down one of the best storytellers of our time. Funny, charming and able to paint a picture with words and imagery which leaves you with always wanting more” - John Peacock, The Comedy Commune

“Margot embraces and rejects and questions and loves all her contradictions... It’s possible to have an identity that isn't what the world expects you to be.” – Anne-Marie Peard, Sometimes Melbourne on Vanity Fair Enough

“Feels akin to 4.00am social media doom scrolling... Margot Tanjutco is a delight to watch.”

“An intertwined story of myth and creative originality, aided with some stunning yet intense visual work and some of the most poignant lines of script that I have heard in quite some time.”
