“Ramadan is a time for reflection and contemplation, a time for enhancing the practice of transcending our need for immediate gratification. A time to interrogate our material excesses and find compassion in our hearts and minds for those less fortunate than ourselves. A time to embody the example of who we aspire to be, in both our words and deeds. A time to connect with our community and our collective humanity.
We are excited to finally be able to welcome everyone back and host an event to celebrate Muslim women during a time where solidarity among all of us in our struggle for gender equality is more pertinent than ever.
Finding a time to gather together surrounded by inspiring women has been a rare occasion of late, but our hope in hosting this event is to create a space for Muslim women and those who support us to come and connect, contemplate and build relationships over a shared meal during the blessed month of Ramadan.”
