QVWC presents works by two LGBTIQ+ artists during this year’s Midsumma Festival.

Ms Stripey Socks and All of Her Friends, works by Juliet Collins
In these thread drawings Juliet explores her journey of exploration of womanhood and the emergence later in life of her as identity as a queer woman. They embody her experience of being a woman: empowerment,strength, sensuality, self love, vulnerability and our connections with others. She conveys a sense of a woman’s inner landscape and her connection to her environment. This collection of embroidered textile artworks are developed from life drawings and individually handmade using freehand machine embroidery.
Journey, works by Amber Barry
Amber is a contemporary artist who is currently focusing on creating illustrations. The illustrations tell a unique story and aim to spike the viewers imagination. Amber’s work combines themes of identity, friendship and the exploration of nature and the roles that plays in everyday life.
