Judy Paterson is very involved in the local communities of Ararat and Willaura. She works tirelessly to ensure the Willaura hospital keeps its doors open and is on the Hospital Auxilliary, organising the local Good Friday Appeal and the annual fete. She is also part of a mentoring program for underprivileged kids. Judy has been instrumental in Willaura remaining in existence as a town. She is respected and very popular and gives of her time generously, fundraising and quietly organising to achieve positive outcomes for her community. She has also made a very significant contribution to medical research through her involvement as a director of the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and its subsidiary, Victorian Genetics Services.

She was born in New Zealand, brought up in Canada and then moved to Melbourne with her family where she graduated with an Arts degree from University of Melbourne in 1928. She worked at the Australian Council for Educational Research, had a family and, while a widow for 20 years, kept herself busy, healthy and interested in life.

Dr Linda Sydor Petkovic was appointed as a Victorian Multicultural Commission Commissioner in 2005 and is actively involved in the Ukrainian community in Geelong. She has managed an after-hours ethnic school and is currently president of Diversitat, a major multicultural service provider in the Barwon region. Linda has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Ph.D from Monash University, for which she undertook research and Slavic language studies in Europe.

In 2004, Merryn Apma, Sharon Gibbard, Trisha Atkinson-Sinclair, Jackie Marion and Julie Phillips joined Michael Long and others on a 650 kilometre trek from Melbourne to Parliament House in Canberra to get Indigenous issues back on the national agenda. This walk inspired Australians to express their commitment to reconciliation and a united Australia, and celebrate the positive achievements of Indigenous communities.

Bronwyn Pike is an outstanding, innovative and courageous Labor woman. A Minister with integrity, a leader delivering long term, major reform to health and mental health, housing, education, skills training and community services. Former MP for Melbourne and the longest serving woman Minister in any Victorian Government.

Bronwyn Pike MP, State Member for Melbourne (1999- 2012) is Victoria’s longest running female minister and led social justice reforms in her portfolios of housing, aged care, health, community building, education, community services, skills and workforce participation (1999- 2010). A former director of Greenpeace Australia and director of justice and social responsibility for the Uniting Church in Victoria (1991- 1997), Ms Pike’s social policy reforms and advocacy for the underprivileged will benefit Victorians for generations.

Elizabeth Proust AO has held leadership roles in the private and public sectors in Australia for almost 25 years. She left ANZ at the end of 2005 to pursue non-executive roles and to work as a mentor and leadership coach. She has an outstanding track record in leading organisations, and in involvement in a range of arts, charitable, university and business boards. In her last role as Managing Director of Esanda, she achieved double-digit profit growth in each of her four years. She was at the ANZ for eight years, and prior to that held senior positions in the Victorian Government and was CEO of the City Of Melbourne. Ms Proust has joined the boards of Perpetual Ltd, Spotless Ltd, Insurance Manufacturers Australia Pty Ltd, and Sinclair Knight Merz Pty Ltd. She is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Previously she chaired the Campus Council at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, reviewed the Defence Department for the then Defence Minister, Dr Brendan Nelson and was chairman of the Centre for Dialogue at La Trobe University. She was also chairman of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra from 2004 to 2008. Ms Proust has a Law degree (University of Melbourne) and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from La Trobe University.
