True Visions

Works by Michelle Duran

Now in Melbourne, Michelle, originally from Colombia but raised in Venezuela, finds beauty everywhere she goes, with eyes being her favourite places to explore. Her daily discoveries through the emotions conveyed in people's gazes are deeply manifested in her paintings. In a quirky and playful manner, she skilfully uses rich colours, often dominated by pink. For Michelle, it's possible to transform sorrow into joy or simply play with the spectrum of emotions when paint gets involved. A painter and writer, she channels chaos into art and grief into inspiration. Her fascination with eyes reflects her capacity to contemplate beauty in the hidden depths they conceal. A psychedelic feeling permeates these pieces of art, which are created with pure joy, quirkiness, spontaneity, and a touch of rebelliousness, narrating tales of liberation. For those who look beyond, Michelle's art opens doors to endless emotional wonder.
